FIRED, Lillie Tew, Jake Stevenson Grimberg, Megan Cowley,
Lauriston Gallery, 14 Jan 22- 30 Apr 22
Fired showcases the work of three emerging artists - Megan Cowley (glass), and ceramicists Lillie Tew and Jake Stevenson Grimberg - selected by Creative Industries Trafford from their graduate showcase at Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Art in 2019.
Due to the COVID pandemic, what started as a graduate award is now realised as an opportunity to bring together collections of work from the last three years by these exciting new artists.
Fired reflects on their creative journeys since graduation, offering a chance to take in the dynamic work that saw them selected for this showcase,
alongside developments created during subsequent residencies and in their newly established studio spaces - many pieces made but never given their deserved exposure.
The pandemic created an unexpected period in which to navigate the challenges of establishing a new creative practice. Though their individual experiences have all been different, all three have in common that they are now set to emerge the other side, ready to define themselves as artists and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
We invite you to enjoy their different styles; to learn about what inspires and motivates their creative practices; and to follow their journeys from here.
