Welcome to Cosgrove Hall: Frame by Frame, was an exhibition showing some of the processes behind some of Cosgrove Hall’s best loved series from Dangermouse (1981-1992) to The Wind in the Willows (1983-1988). Collection of animation insights from creative minds at Cosgrove Hall Films. Cosgrove Hall Films was founded in 1976 by Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall. The pair first met whilst studying Graphic Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. They both started their careers at Granada Television creating title and credit sequences, which was done manually using animation techniques. The pair created their first independent production company Stop Frame Productions animating segments for Thames Television’s Rainbow. Cosgrove Hall was set up as a subsidiary of Thames Television, with Thames’s backing the production studio went on to create and animate some of the most recognisable characters on British television.
