Animation at CIT

CIT’s animation strand delivers a variety of exhibitions, events, conferences, workshops and commission opportunities for emerging animators.

This has been an opportunity to connect the legacy of Cosgrove Hall Films to a new generation of animators and creatives in the field. We’re excited about supporting the local animation scene, and we hope animators from across the country will use the archive as a resource to learn and support the creation of new original animation and to keep the art of stop motion and hand drawn alive.

The Cosgrove Hall Films Archive is an Archival Project based at Waterside Arts. The internationally acclaimed animation collection, contains some of the best-loved children’s characters of the twentieth century, including Danger Mouse, Postman Pat, Wind in the Willows, The BFG, Chorlton & the Wheelies and many more Cosgrove Hall adaptations. Waterside have been custodians of the CHF archive since 2017, housing and preserving the collection.
